会议报告人简介:

Prof. Merched Azzi

Position: Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO Energy Technology Australia and Research leader of Emissions from Energy Cycles.

Areas of expertise: chemical engineering, atmospheric science, air quality modelling

Achievement: He has over 20 years experience in industrial and government research organizations. He conducted numerous state-of-the-art, high impact and world class scientific research relating to the fate of emissions from current and emerging energy sources. His research has provided the scientific knowledge required by industry and regulators to work together towards implementing the appropriate policies for local, regional and global pollution reductions.

Dr.  Yu Hai

Position: researcher at CSIRO

Areas of expertise: utilization of synthetic greenhouse gases and post-combustion carbon capture technology

Achievement: He took part in the international cooperation projects in terms of post-combustion carbon capture supported by Australian and Chinese government, including Beijing Gaobeidian power plant CO2 capture demonstration projects (China’s first carbon dioxide capture demonstration projects), feasibility study of post-combustion CO2 capture in China, the cooperation program of Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University with the support of China-Australia Clean Coal Energy Cooperation. Dr. Yu Hai is a winner of The Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fund (RC APD), and published more than 40 articles.

Prof. John Edwin Oakey

Position: Professor of Energy Technology in Cranfield University and Head of the Institute for Energy and Resource Technology

Areas of expertise: Energy, Power Systems and Gas Turbines, CO2 Capture and Transport, Biomass and Waste, Conventional and Advanced fuels, Renewable Energy Technologies, Environmental Technology, Energy and the Environment

Achievement: He is a recognized authority on materials and process problems in energy processes using fossil and related fuels and is active in research on the clean use of fossil fuels. John represents the University Sector on the UK’s Advanced Power Generation Technology Forum, is a member of the EPSRC Peer Review College, the Materials UK Energy Group and the Institute of Materials Energy Working Group. In Europe, he is on the board of the Energy Materials Industrial Research Initiative, leads the Energy Working Group of the EuMat Technology Platform and is a member of the Zero Emissions Technology Platform. He is also on the board of the collaborative ‘Pilot Advanced Capture Technology (PACT)’ facilities consortium established with support from DECC and EPSRC and is on the Project Board of the European Turbine Network.

Dr. Kumar Patchigolla

Position: Lecturer in Carbon Capture and Storage of Cranfield University

Areas of expertise: Energy, CO2 Capture and Transport, Biomass and Waste, Environmental Impacts, Conventional and Advanced fuels, Renewable Energy Technologies, Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, Environmental Technology, Carbon, Climate Adaptation and Environmental Risk, Computing, Simulation and modelling, Systems Engineering

Achievement: He is the Module Manager for “Energy production, emissions, carbon capture and storage” within the Energy Masters Programme at Cranfield. He is responsible for a wide range of energy process facilities, including pilot scale plants for gasification and carbon capture, as well as high pressure flow loop CO2 transport systems. These facilities have been recently extended with fully automated sophisticated gas supply and mixing system, which can permit operation for extended periods. He currently supervises several PhD students across a range of low carbon technologies, along with delivering lectures across a number of MSc courses.
